Rodeo....Glasgow style

so every year since we have lived in Glasgow, we have went to the Glasgow Uni Vet School Rodeo.  Just so you understand it is nothing like a American Texas Rodeo.....instead we have rides, bouncy Castles, dog training, duck herding by the herding dogs, lots of craft stalls, Highland dancers, dog shows, chain saw wood carver, horse rides, beer tent and food.  Its funny to think back at all the years....our first year Tim was here with us!  The dogs always go with us, its has actually most of the years been sunny.  It has been alot of fun the last 2 years with Cerys being alittle bigger- she loves some rides, and thinks she loves others but as soon as she trys to go on them she gets scared.  So the big slide....she did go on it last year - but with alittle help from another little girl.  This year Simon paid, then she chickened out...but after riding the airplane ride she just kept saying she wanted to go on the bouncy slide.  This video doesn't show it...but half way down the slide she looked scared - but loved it and went her 4 turns and would of kept going all day.

so Emma has been saying dadadada, mamamamma, babbabbaabb...since the end of December but never really to anyone or at anything.  But I can say that really she does say mumma to me....Yesterday I took the girls to the pool with one of our friends Deb and her two children.  Deb had Emma and when I walked away she said it...so now I can be sure that its the real thing.  And since Deb pointed it out, I notice she is acutally saying it to me a good amount. She is also very close to saying HIYA...(.this was one of Cerys first words also but her actuall first word was "da da" then mumma then Hiya)  If you say Hiya to Emma she will repeat it or so it sounds like it but she hasnt acutally used it in the correct setting yet.   I also got my first wave on Mothers day morning.  Her cot is in our room cuz we are lacking space in our cottage....I woke up on Mothers day she was standing up looking at me and when I said good morning Emma she waved...tooo cute! 

its official.....we are going stateside!

Well.....we bought our plane tickets - its bittersweet for me..... we leave the uk on the 15th of July 2011.  I will miss many things about living abroad, and in Scotland.  I am so blessed with our time I have got to spend in Scotland.  As most of you know Simons Graduation date is set for 27th of June.  I cant belive we have been here for almost 5 years and our time is almost up.... Simon is going to be Dr. Gascoyne....or Mr Simon Gascoyne MRCVS... :)  We are moving to a town called Walpole, New Hampshire.  Simon has got a job at one of the first Vet clinics that he worked, Walpole Veterinary clinic, its a mixed animal practice.    I will be looking forward to living by family, having real seasons.( not really looking forward to bugs )  My mom is in MN, my brother in Seattle, WA but we will be lucky enough to be living w/in hours to all of Simons family.  Which will be great for the girls, There is 9 Gascoyne Grandchildren 4 are older then Cerys, 4 are younger then Cerys.  I cant wait to see what first family get together is like!

So yesterday I thought it was time to get Emma some shoes, We have Cerys shoes from when she started walking, cruising but I have this fear of putting them in the wrong size shoes and ruining their feet forever.  I was looking back at when Cerys got her first pair of shoes I know it was right before mothering Sunday in 2008. (Mothering Sunday is 3th of April this year- today!)  And for those of you that don't know Cerys and Emma's birthdays are only 2 yrs and 5 days part. So I got out Cerys baby notes...Cerys got her first pair of shoes 18th of march, and she took her first steps on April 4th and walking across the living room by the 10th of April.   I don't think Emma is going to be that quick possibly cuz the poor mite had to deal with her mom falling and breaking her leg. Emma is crawling around fast , Cerys really never did that.  Emma will pull herself up when ever she can and walk around things.  But no free standing on her own yet.

trip to the Beach

well last Sunday 27th of March...we headed to the beach.!  We had been having some nice sunny days, although when we left it was overcast....we thought we would give it a try hope for more sun at the beach.  We went to Irving Beach which is about a 30 min drive from the house - Cerys, Emma and I followed wee Laura and Hannah....and of coarse we brought the dogs - Chey, Oz and Nell.   When we got to the beach still overcast but at least not rain.  pretty windy and chilly....but we put our jackets on and went for a walk.  Hannah brought some kites, I thankfully brought the rain cover for our backpack for Emma!  It was a great wind shield for her.  Cerys was cold but wanted to make sand castles.  hope you enjoy our photos from Emma's first trip to the beach!
