Road trip to mn

The girls and I took a road trip to MN in July for a family reunion for the Anderson Side of the family but also made the most of my trip.  We left early in the morning spend the night in Indiana at a hotel which the girls were wonderful in the car, stops and hotel.   Got to Mn went to my friend Sara's house for the first night, I met Sara when I went to Vet Tech school so we have been friends for 20 years it was great to catch up and meet her children.  The next day I took the girls to the mall of America - I lived very close to the mall when I went to college and it was great to go with the girls and spend the whole day in the park - they rode rides and loved it.  I met another friend that I knew from Colorado my days at NBCAH, it was great to see Ericka and meet her son.  Next it was on to my Aunt's Joyce's house, I haven't seen many of my Haack side of the family for like 20 years....which is really sad.  I loved seeing them, hearing well needed family stories this was a well needed trip for my heart and soul.  Next day drove to my cousin Brenda's house - they girls loved her big bubble filled bath tub, playing with toys and new games.  We then went up north to see my mom, the family reunion and be back where I grew up.  The girls had both been home to see nana but not at the same time.  Cerys was in Mn when she was 8 weeks old and Emma when she was 5 months old.  It was great to see my mom and spend time in good old Wahkon MN :) Another part of my time in Mn - I went to visit Mary and Bob, they are like my other parents I spent lots of time with them when I was dating their son in high school and into when I lived in Colorado.  Sadly Bob passed away this year, I am blessed to have him in my life.  I tell people that I wouldn't be who I am today with out them in my life.

I ran.....

I know I say this every couple months but .....really I need to get on this blog updating.!  I truly have had a amazing year....I have to go back a few months to catch up on a special event in my life.   I ran my first half marathon May 10th, 2014!   I use to run in Boulder, then Scotland running fell to the waste side of having Glasgow fun, being pregnant, working and having a family.   So when we moved back to the USA we got a treadmill so that I could try to get back into it with kids its hard to run outside.   The most I ever ran in Boulder was just over 6 miles.  So the first time I broke the 6 miles I knew I could do it...I signed up for the Half!   I am lucky that I have good friends in Walpole, not only did Erinn watch my kids on sat's so that I could get my long runs in but they also all came up to cheer me on.   I did the race in Alton Bay which is up north in NH,  the coarse is hilly but Walpole is hilly so I felt I was ready.   I am very proud of myself and ran it in 1:50 mins!  Thanks to the Bowmans, Richardsons, Caserta's and my family for supporting me. And Erinn for watching my kids on Saturdays so I could get my long runs in.   We had a great time at the cabin on lake after the race.  I look forward to the next one in May 2015 !
